Could the recession be a blessing in disguise? Is it possible that you can use the recession to open doors of opportunity? Is there a unique dormant “you” that can now be released that will provide benefits beyond your imagination? It is the purpose of this article to show that by doing a self-examination these questions can be answered.

There is no doubt that the affects of the recession can have a devastating impact on you and your family members. This is especially true when the impact causes you to lose your job. There can be a flood of emotions when this happens. You can experience anxiety, frustration, and or anger just to mention a few of the feelings. And these feelings occur whether you have been at your job a long time or a short time.

How can we get beyond these feelings? How can we turn the recession into a positive rather than a negative? This is where a self-examination provides us the catalyst to open the doors of opportunity. So, where might we begin this examination?

Let’s start with what we know.

1) We are or were good at our job.

Most of us feel that we are good at our job. We follow a routine that makes our work go smoothly. We work hard and on many occasions we do what we have to do to get the job done. We have had reviews from our manager that tells us how good we are. However, we are expendable when the economy tanks.

Take a moment and examine what has made you good at your job. You used your ability to learn, apply, and adapt. You took pride in your work and you cared. There was a sense of satisfaction for a job well done. It is these very abilities and attitude that will allow you to open the doors of opportunity and be successful. When you apply the results of your self-examination to the new opportunities the recession will be a thing of the past for you.

2) Your uniqueness as a person

It is a proven fact that you are unique and that there is no one else exactly like you. Your experiences are yours and your knowledge is yours. So, analyze what you know. I know this might sound too simple or you might have heard it before. However, it is true. Others may have the same knowledge but that does not make them you. You can use this as a positive to open the doors of opportunity.

It is said that knowledge is power. However, applied knowledge is wisdom. If you apply this principle, you can see that the recession can be a positive. Instead of going through the same routine day after day, you now have the opportunity to pursue your dreams. You have the opportunity to do something you might have only dreamed about.

3) The doors of opportunity

The way the economic situation is you can be sure that we are not going to point to another job as a door of opportunity. Another job might exist but the competition for it just gets greater and it becomes harder to land.

It is not the intent of this article to explain each of these terms or describe the mechanics that make these things work. There is so much information to be found and bought about these doors of opportunity that it might be hard to decide which areas to pursue.

However, it is possible to use the traits of your self-examination (abilities, uniqueness, and pride in a job well done) to become successful in using the Internet. It is also possible to find a program that can explain the details of these programs. Internet marketing is not that old. The markets and opportunities for success are greater than ever. It is an exciting frontier that awaits your special uniqueness and the traits that made you a good employee. Do not be afraid to open the doors of opportunity. Take that first step and the recession will become a thing of the past.
